LivePerson is currently seeking an experienced leader to join our team as an Engineering Team Lead as part of our Data Services product group.
We are a "work from anywhere" company and your success will be predicated on your ability to thrive in a remote environment and foster the healthy development of and delivery by a dispersed engineering group. The successful candidate has an opportunity to build and shape a great engineering team with a direct impact on a high priority set of products within the company. You will be part of the Global Product and Technology unit and would help to build state-of-the-art data services that are used by our largest customers.
In this role you will:Lead multiple teams of developers responsible for data processing and (near) real-time scalable APIsOwn the development lifecycle including development, automation, QA, CI, DevOps and production operationsBuild and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant, scalable distributed software systemsDevelop and report performance metrics for your team and coach them for successPerform code reviews and deployment procedures/plansSet goals for your direct reports which are aligned with the company goalsBe responsible for the growth of the team and your direct team members
Your qualifications are:[Register to View] in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent professional experience7+ years of software development experience2+ years of people management experienceGreat people management skillsExperience/Knowledge of Java and Kafka event processing is a mustSolid experience with large-scale distributed systems (SaaS)Experience in working with RESTful APIs is a plusExperience in working with event processing is a plusExperience with SLO/SLI/SLAs and managing 99.99% uptime
You should be an expert in:Tech Background: Be responsible for shaping the tech vision of the products along with the senior team members. You must have an impressive background of developing SaaS based mission-critical applications with 99.99%+ uptime, and consider Operational Excellence as an integral part of responsibility.People Management: Possess exceptional skills in hiring, developing and retaining outstanding engineers. You enjoy coaching team members in their career path and nurture future leaders as part of the routine. Team Leadership: Develop an agile engineering culture where team members continuously improve the velocity of the deliverables. You must be decisive, move quickly and with purpose. You value constant transparent feedback and raise the bar of standard innovation and motivation.
Note: Solid background in software engineering is a must to be able to provide guidance, challenge and grow your team members.
