Planning Budgeting Supervise the execution of the department s objectives initiatives plans policies and procedures Support in developing the annual budget including Financial and Human Resources requirements Work Administration Assign tasks activities and responsibilities to civil structural and architectural engineers according to project needs and engineer capabilities and ensure that the engineers comply with the defined requirements and standards specifically with regards to ANS related projects Lead the civil structural and architectural engineers and ensure that they are performing their responsibilities as expected Provide guidance and technical expertise around developing and updating the various environmental engineering operations Project Supervision Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment and estimate quantities and cost of materials equipment and labor to determine project feasibility Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards Oversee the final handover of all civil structural and architectural projects within SANS Standards Compliance Management Ensure that international environmental protection standards are applied and respected by all parties operating in the airports and in the airspace Ensure that all engineering activities being conducted comply with the environmental protection standards defined by ICAO Coordinate with all Engineering Departments working with airports as well as airline operators to ensure that they apply environmental protection requirements in the delivery of their engineering activities Policies Processes and Procedures Support in monitoring daytoday activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes taking into account leading practices changes in business environment cost reduction and productivity improvement People Management Conduct annual performance appraisal of direct subordinates to monitor their work performance and identify their training and developmental requirements Actively participate in onthejob training mentoring and coaching of subordinates Provide clear direction prioritize tasks assign and delegate responsibility and monitor the workflow
