At QatarEnergy, we are committed to one thing aboveall: Excellence.DepartmentOPERATIONS ENGINEERING - OFFSHOREPrimary purpose of jobProvides technical services and support to offshore operations in all electrical engineering discipline matters especially in critical situations where production loss and safety issues are impacted. Executes assigned electrical engineering dominated Projects carrying out the full range of project related activities starting from design phase followed by Contract administration phase, site erection and finally leading to commissioning and handover to Asset Holder. Maintenance Management: Uses his knowledge of electrical equipment to ensure that all regular maintenance tasks on the equipment are covered through the computerized maintenance management system and that the plant is maintained at its designed reliability and availability in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains close contact with Senior Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Coordinators, and Maintenance Engineers, to ensure effectiveness of the maintenance plans. Materials management: Prepares and ensures that SPIR sheets are introduced for all new equipment installations. Advises Warehouse & Logistics Department to delete spares held for equipment, which has become redundant. Prepares alternative material spec., details for the obsolete equipment/parts and incorporates changes in the SPIR’s accordingly. Also processes necessary Stock Proposal Forms for codifying spares for all electrical equipment. Budget and five year plans: Prepares, in liaison with OEE/3(O) and updates yearly forecast and five-year plans of all activities in his discipline for each offshore location. Prepares the basis for allocating necessary budget provisions including yearly phasing for the coming years. Electrical Authorization: Prepares necessary work assignments related to testing of offshore staff who are nominated for various levels of authorization and undertakes testing at site (upon the directive from Section Head) of the concerned staff. Assist in the revalidation of the certificates as per the relevant procedure and policies. Carries out all work related to execution of electrical engineering discipline related Projects of the Division starting from preparation of scope of Work and detailed design, initiating necessary Contract request document with the required appendices and approvals from third parties, prepares cost estimates, carry out technical evaluation of bids, undertake detailed engineering review and approval, attend Factory Acceptance Tests (when assigned), mobilize and manage Contractor work force at site, attend pre-commissioning/Commissioning activities and coordinate handover of the facility to Asset Holder. Undertakes testing of offshore staff prior to issue of the appropriate level of electrical authorization certificate for carrying out electrical work. Uses his knowledge to act as technical back-up and advises senior maintenance supervisors and discipline supervisors in Maintenance Operations to address recurring problems and major breakdowns in his area of activity Experience & SkillsAt least Ten (10) years experience in the field of electrical engineering including maintenance supervision of electrical equipment/systems and in executing brown field Projects in the Petrochemical or similar industry. Should have exposure and experience in the use of computerized maintenance management systems and have specific knowledge and experiences in engineering standards and codes applicable to his discipline.EducationThe incumbent should hold a [Register to View] in Electrical Engineering.
