Working for our client BAE Systems in Oman, we are looking for a Maintenance Support Engineer for a fixed term role (minimum 1 year). Through leadership of a small team, and with subject matter knowledge and experience, you will help support the design, development and delivery of Maintenance Support capabilities. This will be both on and off aircraft in order to enable safe maintenance operations in the UK and overseas.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the effective provision of Maintenance Support activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness. Understand how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance. Ensure all Maintenance Support activities are appropriately documented, and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. Comply with Maintenance Support associated procedures and standards and any other company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes, as required. Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Maintenance Support activities. Understand the risks associated with Maintenance Support and the means by which they are mitigated and managed. Ensure Maintenance Support activities are compliant with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework, including supporting Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits. Support the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information to support the relevant reviews. Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness. Ensure compliance with applicable contractual requirements, e.g. through support to contract reviews and the incorporation of required changes into Maintenance Support processes. Using Part 21 design specifications develop and scale in service Maintenance Support capabilities and solutions whilst supervising Maintenance Support Engineers. Ensure all Maintenance Support solutions to be developed in accordance with central functional mandates and process maps. Lead and manage the planning of additional and emergent work ensuring also that recurring support services are completed in accordance with central AMS policies and procedures and/or local MOE, CAMEs and SMS as appropriate. At a tactical level lead and manage the Maintenance Support interface with Design Organisations and OEMs, Part 145 organisation(s), Reliability & Maintenance Programmes and all other key stakeholders, in order to deliver Maintenance Support capability to meet contract delivery. Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any Regulatory-driven changes into the Maintenance Support activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.Qualifications & ExperienceUnderstands the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to the Maintenance Support processes and activities. Able to build good relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organisation(s), OEMs, Suppliers and other key stakeholders’ personnel. Have operational knowledge and understanding of the platform contract(s), the fleet’s performance and the business key performance metrics. Demonstrate an understanding of Reliability Programmes and the impact of their findings on the Operator Maintenance Programme. Demonstrate an understanding of Fleet Planning, Maintenance Tasking & Verification and Demand Management. Good to strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience. Effective, credible communicator with good interpersonal skills. Requires product knowledge and a good understanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory operational areas. Able to analyse and interpret data with a high level of attention to detail. Comprehensive understanding of current IT software packages used within the Maintenance Support discipline.PackageRemuneration is inclusive of basic salary, accommodation & utilities supplied (single status initially), subsistence and disturbance allowances, free transport to work, access to gym. 40 hour working week, 30 days holiday (plus Oman public holidays).Eligibility to gain British SC clearance is essential.
