Risk Management and Patient Safety Section Head
-ordinate and Facilitate the learning from reviews carried out within the hospital. Carryout a thematic review of the information extracted from the reviews and spread the learning in a robust manner to all departments/units. Create and maintain a database that collates the relevant information and monitor the actions identified. Participate in the duty Rota which responds to calls, emails and incidents on a daily basis as 24*7. Provide expert advice and leadership in relation to the management, reporting, and investigation and follow up of adverse clinical, physical and other incidents. Develop and update relevant risk management policies in line with national drivers, legislation and community objectives. Provide regular and robust reports on themes and trends to national and international accreditation, (e.g. CBAHI & JCIA), and inspections including learning outcomes. To provide support and advice on behalf of the Planning & Quality Management Department in collaboration with Patient Relation Section to families who have been affected by an adverse event, which may have resulted in bereavement. Provide support and guidance to staff who have been involved in a serious incident as appropriate. Provide support and advice to directors, managers and clinicians dealing with serious adverse incidents.
