DepartmentDESKTOP SERVICES & OPERATION INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGYTitleICT GENERAL TECHNICIAN (IT ASSETS & DESKTOP OPERATION)Primary Purpose of Job• Provide 1st and 2nd line IT technical support to resolve user and operational problems according to the agreed Service Level Agreements. • Investigate, diagnose, and solve computer's software and hardware faults. • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, systems, printers, scanners and other IT peripherals. • Check computer equipment for electrical safety & hazard free work environment. • Repair or replace defective IT components and assemblies. • Provide basic user awareness and training. • Operate, monitor, secure and recover computer applications. • Execute emergency procedures (Virus infection, evacuation, disaster recovery …). • Implement cyber security controls resulted from cyber security taskforce, risk assessments, identified vulnerabilities, audits, etc. • Maintain various technical documents, such as assets inventory of IT related assets. • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate management level. • Provide IT support after working hours and during official holidays. • Get involve in major IT project (Mass PCs replacement, Mass PCs relocation, Conferences, events …). • The ability to provide IT support to all QP related sits and offices (Onshore & Offshore). • The ability to work in different duty cycles and on-call support. • Apply IT standards/policies/procedures on IT related assets and services and report any breaches. • Use the IT Service Desk System to monitor, attend and action all assigned support related tasks and incident. In addition of updating the assigned tickets status. • Manage stocks of equipment, consumables, spare parts, tools, and other supplies • Communicate customer needs and requirements. • Install, configure & troubleshoot QatarEnergy applications and services in user's smart phones and tablets.Education• Technical diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering/Electronics or equivalent).Experience & Skills• Minimum 5 years post-diploma experience in installing and supporting Desktop environment equipment in an enterprise environment (Oil and gas organization is preferred) • Industry certification in major IT products, e.g. A+, Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL..etc. • Good communication skills (oral and written). • Proficient in the usage/application of standard diagnostic, test equipment and software tools. • Able to communicate technical details and instructions in plain, non-technical language. • Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills.
