• Complies and adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff, departmental and clinical policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards; and abide by the rules and regulations of the College of Medicine. • Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for his/her patients. • Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the Chairman of the department in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges. • Reviews, examines, diagnose, treats and refers patients by conducting interviews, performing physical examination; creating, updating and studying patients' medical records. • Collects, records, and maintains patient information and documentation such as medical history, reports, and examination results. • Performs and carries out on-call duties within a reasonable period of time as by the department. • Protects patients and colleagues by promoting awareness and adhering to infection control policies and standard protocols. • Mentors and teaches staff, trainees and students for training and education purposes • Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Quality Management Program, Quality Assessment Improvement Program) as required. • Participates in and actively supports research projects and activities. • Deputizes for his/her superior as required and shares the coverage workload in his/her specialty during the absence of equivalent in an assignment. • Undertakes continuous medical education as required by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and KAMC to improve clinical expertise and develops professional and technical medical knowledge; Maintains awareness of new medical techniques, medications and medical technologies.
