Our five-star resort is set on 1,750 meters of Al Mangaf coastline, curving alongside Kuwait’s largest private white-sand beach, The Sales and Marketing Department is responsible for the overall sales targets of The Hotel but attracting the relevant clients from the various different market segments that exist. They work closely with all departments in the Hotel, especially rooms, events and reservations and operational teams to ensure that their promise is delivered The Commercial Director is responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels to maximize total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration of the resort. This role will drive the planning and execution of the commercial strategy and activity by supporting the Revenue team, Sales, Catering and Events, and Marketing Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following: Directs the hotel in the development, implementation and achievement of their annual business and market plan objectives. Provides leadership, guidance and assistance relating to the execution of marketing and sales functions, policies and standards as established by the Corporation. Capitalizes on Hilton Hotels marketing, sales programs and resources. Participates in the sales process via customer meetings, entertainment and attendance at client and other relevant industry events. Directs coordination of cross-selling, joint marketing initiatives and other hotel/brand synergies to maximize exposure and profitability including agency contact, media planning and hotel communications. Directs the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while providing strategic direction of rate, date and space commitments For group room sales of the property. Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans to maintain current base and increase the hotel’s share in transient market. Directs the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales and Marketing Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast, Marketing Budget, Booking Report, Delphi Reports, Sales Meetings and Marketing Meeting Minutes. Oversees and maximizes revenue contribution from major distribution channels. (HRW, GDS, Internet). Ensures effective utilization of Profit Pack and other utilized Selective Selling guidelines to maximize revenue contribution from all segments To move into this position you should have Minimum one year of service in current position Minimum Bachelor's Degree. Specific Sales training and use of property management / sales systems a benefit. Minimum of 2+ years experience in a large complex hotel, in a similar position leading the commercial team. Minimum 3+ years of experience presenting sales plans, presentations, etc. to senior-level executives and constituent groups 3+ experience working in a collaborative/matrixed environment 3+ years working with departmental financial data to make strategic/tactical decisions 3+ years of experience evaluating and identifying business opportunities for a business At least 3 years of experience managing a sales or commercial team Strong business acumen and commercial knowledge The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Corporate Transient segment. A proven track record of driving business results Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve a high level of performance and exceed targets Excellent interpersonal skills and a full understanding of professional ethics, decorum, and social skills are required for extensive interaction with customers, investment owners, and business partners Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators, produce financial analysis, and develop solutions/approaches to challenges in the analysis Fluent in English Experience in multiple disciplines with knowledge of Marketing, E-commerce, and Finance is an asset GCC experience and Arabic language are advantages.
